Shannon Perry In Horse Riding Accident  E-mail

Houston, TX  - April 8, 2009

On Tuesday March 31, 2009 Gospel recording artist Shannon Perry was in a horse riding accident at her home outside of Houston, TX.  While riding on her own land, Shannon was thrown from her horse, landing on her head.  A neighbor saw the accident and was able to call 911.  The CAT scan returned clear of any head injuries, but Shannon suffered several cracked ribs and a displaced hip.  Shannon was wearing a riding helmet which broke apart in the impact of the fall.  Doctors say the helmet kept her from more serious injuries or even death.  “The helmet and God’s grace saved my life” Shannon said of the accident.  “I’m in some pain and bruised up, but it could have been much worse.”  “God bestowed His amazing mercy on me that day and I thank Him for every step that I take.”

The week of the accident Shannon Perry was due in Nashville for a recording session to finish an upcoming project.  “Please pray for a speedy recovery,” Shannon said.  “I have several concert dates to fulfill this month and a CD to complete.  God is doing great things, and I plan to enjoy all of them--without a crutch!”
