Pop Shares Heart for Every Nation on SGM RadioNashville, TN (November 24, 2008) – Dora Pop who released her debut-recording project, Who Am I, earlier this year, has returned from yet another mission trip to Cape Town, South Africa. Pop who was in Hong Kong, earlier this year was joined by a team of 31 individuals from the US in partnership with Brentwood Baptist Church, in Nashville, TN, and was privileged to lead the music and teach Pre-school children at a Vacation Bible School in the shanty township of Red Hill. "There isn't a picture that I could have taken that would capture what I experienced in South Africa," stated Pop. "Cape Town is a first world city in a third world country and yet there is an overwhelming hope and the Lord truly is at work amongst those beautiful people!" LifeWay's 2008 VBS curriculum, Outrigger Island, was taught containing five biblical truths: God is Real; Jesus is God's Son; Jesus is the only way; the Bible is God's Word; and my actions show what I believe. The BBC team was divided into several teams Construction, IT, Hospice Retreat, Aids Crafts and VBS. The VBS team was divided among four townships in Cape Town: Red Hill, Capricorn, Ocean View and Masiphumelele.
Many of the children in Red Hill have never seen the beach; yet live two miles from the Atlantic Ocean. "These children don't have much of anything but they have faith in the knowledge that God is real and that He loves them. I am living proof that God calls people of every nation to be a part of His kingdom," stated Pop. "Now, it is my turn to tell the story of Jesus to people of every nation." Earlier this fall, Pop began writing for SGM Radio on her travels and her heart for "Every Nation." Pop began traveling with her ministry full time this past spring. "Open The Sea," a ballad relating to God's ability to perform miracles, penned by Amy Henning, is Pop's current single released to Southern Gospel radio and is being promoted by TS-Promotions.
