Houston, TX - April 8, 2009 On Tuesday March 31, 2009 Gospel recording artist Shannon Perry was in a horse riding accident at her home outside of Houston, TX. While riding on her own land, Shannon was thrown from her horse, landing on her head. A neighbor saw the accident and was able to call 911. The CAT scan returned clear of any head injuries, but Shannon suffered several cracked ribs and a displaced hip. Shannon was wearing a riding helmet which broke apart in the impact of the fall. Doctors say the helmet kept her from more serious injuries or even death. “The helmet and God’s grace saved my life” Shannon said of the accident. “I’m in some pain and bruised up, but it could have been much worse.” “God bestowed His amazing mercy on me that day and I thank Him for every step that I take.” |

Pop is Sweet Sleep's First Artist Partner
Nashville, TN (December 4, 2008) – Dora Pop has partnered with Sweet Sleep, a Nashville-based non profit organization that exists to share God's love by providing beds for the world's orphaned and abandoned children. Sweet Sleep has launched the Artist Sponsorship Program with Dora Pop as their first artist. Sweet Sleep began in 2003, when President and Founder, Jen Gash, went on a mission trip to an orphanage in the third world country of Moldova. There are currently 210 million orphaned and abandoned children in the world. Each day, 5,760 children become orphans. Moldova is the neighboring country of Romania and its national language is Romanian. Being from Romania, Dora exudes a passion and desire for the heritage. "The first time I went on a mission trip to Romania was in the year 2000 and we worked in orphanages and small villages rebuilding the community and ministering to the children and families," Dora recalls. "When I first heard of Sweet Sleep, I felt God calling me to get involved ministering to people of my heritage." |

Pop Shares Heart for Every Nation on SGM RadioNashville, TN (November 24, 2008) – Dora Pop who released her debut-recording project, Who Am I, earlier this year, has returned from yet another mission trip to Cape Town, South Africa. Pop who was in Hong Kong, earlier this year was joined by a team of 31 individuals from the US in partnership with Brentwood Baptist Church, in Nashville, TN, and was privileged to lead the music and teach Pre-school children at a Vacation Bible School in the shanty township of Red Hill. "There isn't a picture that I could have taken that would capture what I experienced in South Africa," stated Pop. "Cape Town is a first world city in a third world country and yet there is an overwhelming hope and the Lord truly is at work amongst those beautiful people!" LifeWay's 2008 VBS curriculum, Outrigger Island, was taught containing five biblical truths: God is Real; Jesus is God's Son; Jesus is the only way; the Bible is God's Word; and my actions show what I believe. The BBC team was divided into several teams Construction, IT, Hospice Retreat, Aids Crafts and VBS. The VBS team was divided among four townships in Cape Town: Red Hill, Capricorn, Ocean View and Masiphumelele. |
